Scholarships

In 1993, The Major League Baseball Clubhouse Managers Association was established. A scholarship fund program ensued shortly thereafter to promote higher education. Over time, the fund has evolved promoting higher education for members of their support staff and is available to all Major League clubhouse attendants, bat boys, ball boys, and ball girls. Over $750,000 in scholarships have been provided since its inception. In 2023, the association teamed up with Tootsie Roll CEO, Ellen Gordon to create the Melvin and Ellen Gordon Family Scholarship which will provide an additional $25,000 annually.

Before the All-Star game in Atlanta on July 15th, two $10,000 scholarships were awarded along with the Gordon Family Scholarship. Throughout the year many lesser grants are awarded based on need and circumstance.
