Major League Baseball Clubhouse Managers Association (MLBCMA) announces winners of their 2016 Scholarship Award.
The Major League Baseball Clubhouse Managers Association Scholarship Fund was established in 1993. Through the efforts of the Clubhouse Managers, a self funded program was established, which evolved to promote higher education for members of their support staff. Since 1993 The Major League Baseball Clubhouse Managers Association has awarded over $460,000 to its award recipients. This year, two $10,000 awards were presented at this year’s All-Star Game in San Diego.
This year’s winners are:
Elijah Simkins, attending Wayne State Law School, Detroit Tigers.
Jackson Thomas, attending George College, Atlanta Braves
Clubhouse Manager of the Year
Tom McLaughlin Boston Red Sox Home Clubhouse Manager of the Year
Clubhouse Manager of the Year
Troy Timney Los Angeles Dodgers Visiting Clubhouse Manager of the Year
