BASEBALL ASSISTANCE TEAM AWARDS THE FRANK SLOCUM BIG B.A.T. AWARD TO MLBCMA

During the 2019 MLB All-Star Futures Game in Cleveland, the Major League Baseball Clubhouse Managers Association (MLBCMA) presented the Baseball Assistance Team (B.A.T.) with a contribution of $100,000.00.

In recognition of this generous contribution, the Baseball Assistance Team recently awarded the members of the Major League Baseball Clubhouse Managers Association the Frank Slocum Big B.A.T. Award.

“The awarding of the Frank Slocum Big B.A.T. Award to the members of the MLBCMA is an honor that we are very proud of.” said Lou Cucuzza, Jr., MLBCMA President. “The contribution to the Baseball Assistance Team was considered by our Board of Directors and unanimously approved by our membership. We could not think of a more worthy cause than to help our fellow Baseball Family members in their time of need.”

The B.A.T. (Baseball Assistance Team) Award is formally known as the Frank Slocum Big B.A.T. Award and its given to someone whose exemplarity service to the B.A.T. organization has helped provide dignity and self-esteem to members of the baseball family. Frank Slocum was an executive with Major League Baseball and the Executive Director of the Baseball Assistance Team. After he passed away in 1997, B.A.T. named the award in his honor.

The Baseball Assistance Team (B.A.T.) was formed in 1986 by a group of former Major League Baseball players and was founded to confidentially help members of the Baseball Family who were in need of assistance with nowhere else to turn.
